Commissioned by curator ︎︎︎Elisa Rusca for the group exhibition ‘Into the Mu’ at Kunsthalle Bratislava, this artists’ novel utilises sci-fi and pulp fiction literary modes to explore ideas around information control, mourning and memory, flexible identities and the materiality of bodies. The dystopian narrative of the book involves the relationship between two brothers at a time of a mysterious global pandemic in an undefined near-future setting. The Sickness was designed and published by ︎︎︎TFGC Publishing (Düsseldorf). This publication work is in the permanent ︎︎︎‘Book Lovers’ collection at MuHKA, Antwerp, and regualry takes part in touring exhibitions as part of that collection. In 2022 I participated in an online reading of two sections of the novella at the event ︎︎︎Reading Artist’s Books, organised by Regine Ehleiter. Some copies of the novella are still available; if interested ︎︎︎contact me directly.
