Ciarán Walsh (b. 1980, Ireland) is an artist based in Berlin, Germany. His work draws upon the German Romantic tradition, folk allegorical devices, and concepts around the supernatural. Utilising diverse media, he seeks to interrogate both the operative power of images and the key emotional infrastructures – built upon anxiety and desire – that underpin contemporary experience. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions internationally, including at Kunsthalle Bratislava (Slovakia), Project Arts Centre (Dublin), Ujazdowski Castle CCA (Warsaw) and Light & Wire Gallery (Los Angeles), among others. He has curated public commissions and art projects in Ireland, the UK, and Germany, collaborating with numerous artists, writers and institutions, and participated in the postgraduate creative research programme of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation (Germany).
