In Aperture, Walsh self-reflexively explores the act of making a video work about a park in Berlin. The artist muses variously over Romantic-era landscaping concepts, the place-history of the park, the work’s own conditions of production, the former political border between East and West Berlin, issues of visual representation, and the drowning of a migrant man. The work arose out of a 2021 residency at ︎︎︎The Watch (Berlin) and is due for completion early 2023.

The work has been enabled in part by financial support from Carlow County Council’s Individual Arts Act Grant.
